Quality Industrial Plastics (QIP) was founded in the 1980s, helping pioneer the sale of pultruded fiberglass solutions long before it became the industry standard for corrosive environments. Today, after 40 years, fiberglass grating is widely specified across industrial, chemical, and offshore applications, and QIP remains a trusted leader on the Alabama Gulf Coast for all composite solutions. We offer a broad spectrum of both metallic and composite gratings, ensuring that we meet the diverse needs of our clients.
While we are well-known for our expertise in fiberglass grating and prefabricated fiberglass structures, our product line has continued to expand, evolving with advances in technology and industry demands. At QIP, we remain humble and respectful in all our endeavors, taking our business seriously while keeping a friendly, approachable spirit. We are here to serve, so please contact us to discuss your plant’s specific requirements, and we’ll be happy to recommend the most effective corrosion-resistant solutions.
The bearing bars use both longitudinal (glass roving) and multidirectional (glass mat) reinforcements as well as a synthetic surfacing veil to provide unequaled strength and corrosion resistance. The densely packed core of continuous glass rovings gives the bar strength and stiffness in the longitudinal direction while the continuous glass mat provides strength in the transverse direction and prevents chipping, cracking and lineal fracturing. The synthetic surfacing veil provides a 100% pure resin surface for added corrosion resistance and UV protection.
Options in FRP are also available with a H20 truck load application. Heavy Duty Fiberglass grating is designed to take heavy duty wheel traffic such as fork trucks and truck traffic.
Looking for prefabricated galvanized grating? Yes, we offer that as well, since we understand fiberglass is not always an option. Please shoot us an email or give us a ring, and we can provide you with a galvanized solution for your trench, stair treads and platforms. Close to 90% of the fabricated GLV grating we sell is 19W4. Other bearing bar and cross rod spacings are available on request.
Heavy duty steel is a common choice for applications that involve vehicle traffic. Metal grating with bars thicker than 3/16” are considered Heavy Duty. Contact us for more information on what series best meets your needs.
Aluminum grating is an excellent choice if you have a corrosive or damp environment and need a strong option. You have all the same options of sizes, finishes and properties as your light duty grating.
